Vickie Paladino has been a proud resident of this district for 66 years, a small business owner, mother, and activist driven to undo the damage inflicted on our community by decades of mismanagement and cronyism.
Vickie was born in Whitestone to working-class parents. Her father, a World War Two veteran, passed away when she was only twelve years old, leaving her mother to raise her three sisters and one brother alone. She learned at an early age the value of family and community, especially during hard times.
She met her husband of 45 years at a St. Lukes church event, and raised two sons in Whitestone, in the house her husband grew up in and only a few blocks from where she herself grew up.
Together, they owned a successful family business for over twenty five years, serving the people of Northeast Queens and the surrounding areas.
Today, Vickie is a renowned community activist, well known for standing up to Bill DeBlasio and the radical political elements who threaten to tear our city apart and destroy our quiet residential neighborhoods. She ran as an outsider for State Senate in 2018 on a platform of law and order and fiscal responsibility, winning a competitive GOP primary and establishing a strong base of support among the people in her district, who valued her common sense and direct style, as well as her genuine commitment to the area.
She is now the most effective Council Member our district has ever seen, bringing common sense to City Hall, and delivering results to our district every single day. She’s fully restored police funding in the city budget, increased the number of cops in our local precincts, brought millions of dollars into our district schools, and successfully fought to close migrant shelters in our district.
As a member of the City Council, she is working every single day to preserve our neighborhoods, support our small businesses, empower the NYPD, and check the power of City Hall.
